still considered by the duo as their strongest release to date, ex-wise head's third full length celestial disclosure brought their unique fusion of jazz, electronica, sound art and world music to perfection. originally released in 2007 on tonefloat's c imprint in a vinyl edition limited to 300 copies, the album's two extended cuts saw former henry cow member geoff leigh wrap his flexible sax lines and sultry flute solos around porcupine tree bassist colin edwin's infectiously groovy polyrhythmic patterns. drawing from melodic western and mysterious oriental scales alike, the resuling streams of consciousness hynotically explored the middle ground between blissed out improvisation and to the point composition. for the record's re-release on cd, leigh and edwin have now decided to complement these pieces by a bonus-contribution culled from the same sessions. sporting the talents of indian-born acoustic guitarist rajan spolia, who already featured on previous ex-wise heads work liquid assets, the inclusion of this lengthy and flowing atmospheric track organically complements and enriches what already seemed an entirely conclusive album at the time of its release. celestial disclosure will be published in a high-quality japanese style mini album cardboard sleeve. the release date is october 10, 2010, and available to pre-order from the tonefloat store.
